A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to nonexistent email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a typographical error. The disadvantage of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of spam emails, but this issue can be resolved using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward inbound emails to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
In case you have a shared hosting with our company and you want to enable the catch-all option for a given mailbox that you have in the web hosting account, it will take literally only one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can choose one single address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all messages sent to mistyped addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button once more will turn off the catch-all feature. If you have activated email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary notice and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature till you remove the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all functionality can be enabled without any effort in case you have a semi-dedicated server account with our company. All the email addresses that you have created with the domain names hosted in the semi-dedicated server account will be enumerated in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you will see a small-size icon handily located directly next to each one of them. With just one click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and activate the feature using the context menu that will appear. If any of the conditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will inform you, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
